1/2 liter. 11 1/2" tall. Imperial German Eagle Stein. This stein features a pewter Imperial German Eagle at the center front, on a polished black background, in richly-detailed style. It is framed in heavy-relief gold scrolling and gold vining Hops and Malt. The Imperial German Eagle originates from an emblem believed to have been used by Charlemagne, the first Frankish ruler crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope in 800 A.D., and was derived from the Eagle Standard of the Roman army. The domed pewter lid displays intricate banding and is topped with a solid pewter Imperial German Eagle finial.
