1/2 liter 11 inches in height Imperial German Eagle - Coat of Arms. This stein features an Imperial German Eagle, in detailed-relief pewter on the center front, with a polished black background. It is framed by the Coats of Arms for the German States in richly colorful detail. The sides and back have a flourish of vining Hops and Malt extending into the handle. The pewter mountings and thumblift support a domed pewter lid with intricate-relief detail banding.

The Imperial German Eagle originates from an emblem believed to have been used by Charlemagne, the first Frankish ruler crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope in 800 A.D., and was derived from the Eagle Standard of the Roman army.
