3/4 ltr. 10" tall. Deutschland-Germany Beer Stein. This traditional-style stein is hand-painted, rustic relief featuring highlights of Germany with a focus on the German Imperial Eagle. The Imperial German Eagle originates from an emblem believed to have been used by Charlemagne, the first Frankish ruler crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope in 800 A.D., and was derived from the Eagle Standard of the Roman army.  Germany's capital, Berlin, is displayed at the center top above the Imperial Eagle in a highlighted panel with gold scroll framing. Other areas featured, with their architectural landmarks, are Cologne, Rothenburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, the Black Forest, the Rhine River, and the Neuschwanstein Castle. The turned pewter lid is adorned with decorative relief banding.
