3/4 Liter. 11 1/2" Tall. German Coat of Arms Stein. This hand-painted stein has a polished black background displaying colorful Coats of Arms on an Imperial German Eagle. The Imperial German Eagle originates from an emblem believed to have been used by Charlemagne, the first Frankish ruler crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope in 800 A.D., and was derived from the Eagle Standard of the Roman army. The Coats of Arms are displayed for the cities of Heidelberg, Berlin, Cologne, Rudesheim, Munich, Frankfurt, Rothenburg, and Nuremberg, The side panels depict banner flags of Germany. The domed pewter lid is adorned with finely-detailed relief banding.
