3/4 Liter. 11" Tall. Imperial Eagle with Lion Heads Stein. This rustical, heavy relief stein features many highlights of German architecture. The Imperial German Eagle is displayed on the front center panel. It originates from an emblem believed to have been used by Charlemagne, the first Frankish ruler crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope in 800 A.D., and was derived from the Eagle Standard of the Roman army. The side panels depict the architecture of Rothenburg, Heidelberg, Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, and the Neuschwanstein Castle. The base banding features alternating Coats of Arms and Lion Heads. The domed pewter lid is adorned with intricate decorative relief banding.
