The center front depicts a romancing couple among a castle courtyard scene. The surrounding side panels have heavy relief flowering, doves, and castle background. The flared base design features winged cherubs. A side framed panel states the German saying "O schone zeit du zeit der liebe" which translates to "Oh what a beautiful time of love". The multi-domed pewter lid is adorned with intricate relief decorative banding.
